My previous projects

When I was 6 years old I cycled 4 miles around a park in my home town of Worcester to help raise money for my Romanian friend Bobo. He was very ill with leukaemia and needed a bone marrow transplant which costs £45,000. I raised £8,500, and although it wasn't enough, other people also helped out and in the end he finally had the operation. Sadly, he died, but I will never forget him.

My next project was a sponsored swim for Iraqi war victim Ali Ismeaal Abbas, who had his arms blown off and all of his family killed when his house was hit by a missile. I felt great sympathy for him, as I sort of knew what he was going through without his arms, and the fact that he had lost his family really touched me. I felt like I had to do something, so I swam 1000 metres in 45 minutes and I raised £4050 to help pay for artificial arms or any other aids that he might need. I was so happy that I had the privilege to meet Ali down in London in September 2003. It was brilliant. I still keep in touch with Ali, and I was so happy when at the pride of Britain awards, he presented me with the award.
